caliyā āila ratha ‘balagaṇḍi’-sthāne
jagannātha ratha rākhi’ dekhe ḍāhine vāme

Synonyms

caliyā—moving; aila—came; ratha—the car; balagaṇḍi-sthane—at the place known as Balagaṇḍi; jagannātha—Lord Jagannātha; ratha—car; rakhi—after stopping; dekhe—sees; ḍāhine vāme—left and right. 

Translation

When they reached the place called Balagaṇḍi, Lord Jagannātha stopped His car and began to look left and right.
