‘gauḍa’ saba ratha ṭāne kariyā ānanda
kṣaṇe śīghra cale ratha, kṣaṇe cale manda

Synonyms

gauḍa—the pullers of the car; saba—all; ratha—the car; ṭāne—pull; kariya—feeling; ānanda—happiness; kṣaṇe—sometimes; śīghra cale—goes very fast; ratha—the car; kṣaṇe—sometimes; cale—goes; manda—very slow. 

Translation

The pullers of the car were known as gauḍas, and they pulled with great pleasure. However, the car sometimes went very fast and sometimes very slow.
