āmi ta’—sannyāsī, dāmodara—brahmacārī
sadā rahe āmāra upara śikṣā-daṇḍa dhari’

Synonyms

ami ta—I indeed; sannyasi—in the renounced order of life; dāmodara—of the name Dāmodara; brahmacari—in a stage of complete celibacy; sada—always; rahe—remains; amara upara—on Me; siksa-danda—a stick for My education; dhari—keeping. 

Translation

“Although I am in the renounced order of life and Dāmodara is a brahmacārī, he still keeps a stick in his hand just to educate Me.
