parīkṣā karite gopāla kaila ājñā dāna
parīkṣā kariyā śeṣe haila dayāvān
Synonyms
pariksa—test; karite—to make; gopāla—Lord Gopāla; kaila—did; ajna—the order; dāna—giving; pariksa—the test; kariya—making; śeṣe—at the end; haila—became; daya-vān—merciful. ¶
Translation
“To test the intense love of Mādhavendra Purī, Gopāla, the Supreme Personality of Godhead, ordered him to bring sandalwood from Nīlācala, and when Mādhavendra Purī passed this examination, the Lord became very merciful to him. ¶
