padbhyāṁ calan yaḥ pratimā-svarūpo
brahmaṇya-devo hi śatāha-gamyam
deśaṁ yayau vipra-kṛte ‘dbhutehaṁ
taṁ sākṣi-gopālam ahaṁ nato ‘smi

Synonyms

padbhyām—by the two legs; calan—walking; yah—one who; pratimā—of the Deity; svarūpaḥ—in the form; brahmaṇya-devah—the Supreme Lord of brahminical culture; hi—certainly; sata-aha—in one hundred days; gamyam—to be passed over; deśam—the country; yayau—went; vipra-kṛte—for the benefit of a brāhmaṇa; adbhuta—most wonderful; iham—activity; tam—unto that; saksi-gopālam—the Gopāla known as the witness Gopāla; Aham—I; natah asmi—offer respectful obeisances. 

Translation

I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Personality of God [brahmaṇya-deva], who appeared as Sākṣi-gopāla to benefit a brāhmaṇa. For one hundred days He traveled through the country, walking on His own legs. Thus His activities are wonderful.
