“bākī-kauḍi bāda, āra dviguṇa vartana kailā
punaḥ ‘viṣaya’ diyā ‘neta-dhaṭī’ parāilā
Synonyms
baki-kauḍi bada—excusing the balance due; ara—and; dvi-guna—double; vartana kaila—made the salary; punaḥ—again; visaya diyā—giving the post; neta-dhaṭī paraila—decorated with the silken cloth. ¶
Translation
“The King has excused me for the balance due,” he said.”He has reappointed me to my post by honoring me with this silken cloth and has doubled my salary. ¶
