yad yad ācarati śreṣṭhas
tat tad evetaro janaḥ
sa yat pramāṇaṁ kurute
lokas tad anuvartate

Translation
“Whatever action is performed by a great man, common men follow. And whatever standards he sets by exemplary acts, all the world pursues.” ¶
