śyāma-varṇa rakta-netra mahā-bhayaṅkara
dhanur-bāṇa haste,—yena yama daṇḍa-dhara
Synonyms
syama-varṇa—blackish color; rakta-netra—reddish eyes; maha-bhayaṅkara—very fearful bodily features; dhanuḥ-bāṇa haste—with arrows and bow in hand; yena yama danda-dhara—exactly like the superintendent of death, Yamarāja. ¶
Translation
“The hunter’s body was blackish. He had reddish eyes, and he appeared fierce. It was as if the superintendent of death, Yamarāja, was standing there with bows and arrows in his hands. ¶
